On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Economic Thought journal, the Economic Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and the journal's editorial board are pleased to invite you to a discussion on the topic:

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS FUTURE MAKING

led by Prof. Dr. Dimo Dimov, University of Bath, United Kingdom.

Since its first issue in May 1956, Economic Thought journal has been a platform for leading ideas in economics. It is therefore fitting that the anniversary be marked with a discussion devoted to the future. Prof. Dimov will present entrepreneurship not merely as an economic activity, but as a way in which people create new economic and social realities.

The event is intended for the academic community; the presentation will be followed by a discussion. Please confirm your attendance at econth@iki.bas.bg.

About Prof. Dr. Dimo Dimov

Prof. Dr. Dimo Dimov, FBA, is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Bath, United Kingdom.

Prof. Dimo Dimov is an internationally leading scholar of entrepreneurship. In 2026 he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), one of the highest honours for scholars in the humanities and social sciences in the United Kingdom. He has also been recognised among the 100 most influential entrepreneurship professors in the world.

His research interests span entrepreneurial thinking, process and practice, which he examines from a philosophical perspective at the intersection of futures studies and design science. The central question of his work is how entrepreneurs construct new economic and social realities. It is precisely this idea that the discussion Entrepreneurship as Future Making is devoted to.

Prof. Dimov is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Business Venturing Insights. He is a member of the editorial board of Economic Thought journal. He has served as Associate Editor of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and Entrepreneurship and Regional Development. He is the author of The Reflective Entrepreneur (Routledge, 2017). He received his PhD from London Business School and has taught at Newcastle University, the University of Connecticut (USA) and IE Business School (Spain).
