The problem of the sustainability of the management process and the dependency in human relations in social systems is defined. The causes of the misunderstood policy are analysed Problems in the implementation of tasks are examined through the prism of team work. All this justifies controlled going back as a factor for governing sustainability under certain circumstances (as defined in the study).

This paper examines the theoretical approaches to electronic democracy, its significance and the possibilities in its broad and restricted realization during the process of e-government creation and the development of e-governance. The methodological basis of the investigation is an analysis of the theoretical foundations and the international practices applied in order to involve citizens in the decision-making process and data about the electronic participation of citizens gathered by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. The practical significance of the present investigation is to define the correlation between the real state of the electronic participation of citizens and the proclaimed purposes of electronic democracy. The problems that make the circumstances around the formation of electronic democracy in Ukrainian more complicated have been defined and directions for the development and improvement of electronic interaction have been offered.

The role and development of the public sector in the main sectors of the transport infrastructure of the new Bulgarian state up until the nationalization at the end of 1947 are analyzed. The particular significance of the public sector in them stems from the “poor inheritance” as well as the lack of capital in the hands of the Bulgarian bourgeoisie and its individualism. Experience shows that the alternative – subordinating developments in these areas to foreign capital – is less favorable, especially in the long run. The improvement of the transport infrastructure is a necessary prerequisite for the progress of agriculture and industry, as well as for the creation of the internal market and its linkage to external markets. Investments in it are several times higher than those in the industry, and it holds 40% of its employees. The economic efficiency of these investments is not only direct but also indirect. It is also realized in the private sector as well as in the social, state and political spheres. The development of transport infrastructure is a prerequisite for the development of more significant industrialization on the eve of, during and especially after the Second World War.

The twin deficit hypothesis, which explores the causal link between the budget deficit and the current account deficit, is put to the test for a sample of 188 countries for the period 1980-2014. The obtained results show that there is a complex impact on the current account dynamics, which cannot be explained solely by the dynamics of a single variable, or, if it is possible, then this variable is not the budget balance. It is found that the average budget balance is positive in only 36 countries (it is negative in the remaining 152 countries), ergo, the twin deficit hypothesis is confirmed. This is also supported by the VAR analysis - the double deficit hypothesis is valid for all groups of coefficients except those of Tuvalu, Lebanon, Eritrea and Equatorial Guinea, which have extreme coefficients (above -10).

The aim of the study is to identify the main economic problems - the subject of discussion among the scientific community in the framework of the economic scientific conferences in Bulgaria, the proposed solutions and the quality of their argumentation. The object of the study are 300 articles from 8 conferences held in 2016, organized by 12 out of 26 universities and institutes with economic specialties. To achieve the set objective, an analytical toolkit for systematic evaluation based on best practices of reputable national and international journals is proposed and applied. Based on the results obtained, conclusions and recommendations are formulated for clear issues and purpose of scientific conferences, coherence of their themes and dissemination of the argued decisions in order to assist the formation of a scientifically based strategy and policy of economic development as well as economic sciences.

The book by prof. dr. ic.n. Danail Danailov continues the research on the complex and controversial process of the integration of the Bulgarian economy into the European Union. Changes in the region and global challenges condition the author's search for such a societal paradigm that would meet the needs of the country, mitigating the objective negative influences of the external environment. The fateful choice of joining a large integration community was made in the context of the controversial development of the Southeast European region. Prof. Danailov compares indicators of the economic development of the Balkan countries with those of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which illustrates the difficult path of changes in national economies. The main focus is on privatisation and foreign direct investment (FDI), comparing the processes in the Balkan countries. Russia's role in the region's energy policy is highlighted, with implications for the overall political process in South-East Europe, and the importance of the Western Balkans' inclusion initiatives is emphasised.

The dynamic development of the integration processes between the EU countries in the new economic and social realities necessitate the removal of trade barriers and the deepening of economic democracy. These conditions give rise to the need for the formation of a new type of legal-organisational entities. Such a structure is the European Company (EC), which is also referred to as the European Public Limited Company or by the Latin name Societas Europaea (SE).
