The author states that Bulgarian economy cannot be cured of its endemic deficiencies by means of conventional reforming. Radical actions are required to modernize it. A specific analytical instrument is applied – the so called Socio-matrix scanner. The main conclusions based on the performed analysis are presented. In addition, the most important changes on the market and in the country are also set forth whereby modernization should start.

Opportunities for increasing the potential of Bulgarian industrial sector organizations for human capital development are explored. The leading thesis is that the strategic goal of organizations to achieve and increase their competitiveness requires adequate policies and resulting mechanisms aimed at increasing the share of human capital holders. Significant scientific statements on human capital are presented. Key policies and mechanisms in human resource management in industrial organizations are analyzed in a coherent manner. The real problem fields limiting the development of human capital in organizations are systematized and some solutions to overcome them are argued.

Climate change is a challenge to the socio-economic development of all humanity, requiring a global effort to address the issues at stake. Awareness of these ideas underpins the agreements reached at the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Alongside the agreed mechanisms and means to comply with binding decisions, governments are using and implementing a rich arsenal of means and mechanisms based on international trade and investment to contribute to substantial greenhouse gas reductions. In this regard, the interplay between the development of environmentally sound business activities based on new technologies and standards, and the operation of trade and investment measures through which solutions are generated within the framework of international trade in goods is explored. A general picture of atmospheric pollution is presented. A retrospective analysis is made, describing the efforts made to curb the negative effects in previous conferences.

Currently, Corporate Social Responsibility has become an issue worldwide as much as on a European and national scale. It is closely related to sustainable growth and social fairness and relations. This article offers a new approach to the core of corporate social responsibility, and on this basis, a Report on Corporate Social Responsibility with Integral Evaluation for any form of business organization.

The Constitution is a fundamental document for social relations. By the force of formal logic, it should also be so for social relations, also defined as "economic". The constitution is therefore not simply an economic document in legal form regulating the political status quo, but an act setting out the general characteristics of the economic order. Emphasizing this achievement of twentieth-century economic thought, our study is an effort aimed at unfolding the potential of this extremely important and topical issue.

The paper analyses the impact of information technologies and the accompanying digitalization of public life on the activities of banks. The widespread penetration of information technology into people's everyday lives and the decline in trust in banking institutions following the 2008 financial crisis in the US are leading to a transformation in the way financial products and services are perceived and delivered. As a result of this change, financial technology companies (FinTech) have emerged, offering products equivalent to those of banks and becoming a direct competitor to banks. In this context, the specific features of FinTech firms that distinguish their business model from that of banks are examined.

At the end of 2016 the new book1 by prof. dr. ic. Danail Danailov - long-time lecturer at the Department of International Economic Relations and Business at the UNWE and its rector from 1980 to 1987. It is dedicated to the impact of the fourth industrial revolution on the economy and society. The focus of prof. The focus of Danailov's work is on the highly topical problems arising from the change in the nature of two types of relations: man-machine and man-man. The author defines machine-human interaction as a "robots versus humans" relationship. The other important change is in the relationship between people in society, the nature of which is defined as "capital versus labour".
